Mindful Futures

At the Chipeta Sun Lodge and Spa — Ridgway, Colorado

Summer solstice: June 21-23, 2010

A workshop/retreat designed to open your eyes, expand your horizons, and lift your spirit into the future!

The workshop is intended for Boomers who are looking: at post-”retirement” futures, for transformational changes in lifestyle, for second career inspiration, and/or for better insight into the coming “tsunamis” of global change. The workshop is based on the pioneering futures work of Dr. Verne Wheelright (Personal Futures Workbook), Dr. Sohail Inayatullah (Causal Layered Analysis Reader), and the Hawaii Research Center for Futures Studies (Dator, Schultz, Jones, et al.)

The retreat runs from the opening evening through noon on the third day. The opening night includes a wine tasting and reception, introductory presentation, and discussion. Mornings both begin with early bird (optional) yoga sun salutations, followed by hands-on personal futures workshop sessions. Second day afternoon workshops are followed in the mid afternoon and evening by “personal time” for spa, massage, or hot springs excursions in the area. A spa package will be available to workshop participants in combination with lodging, and can be arranged directly through the resort.

The workshop venue is the Kiva conference room, located in the picturesque Chipeta Sun Lodge and Spa, nestled in the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. The historic town of Ouray and Orvis hot springs are minutes away.
