Boomers & personal futures

Boomers & personal futures

balancing rock

balancing Nature

We love this part of the world and we want to share it with others through our upcoming workshop series, Mindful Futures. But we are also concerned about the planet and our impact upon it. So, we also are entering into a relationship with the Colorado Environmental Coalition to help support their efforts to protect and preserve wilderness and sensitive areas in Western Colorado. Ten percent of Gaia Somatics profits go towards environmental stewardship in our region.

We look forward to sharing that beauty with some of you in our upcoming workshops in Western Colorado. The first in a series, Mindful Futures will be held in Ridgway, surrounded by the spectacular northern end of the San Juan Mountains. The first Mindful Futures workshop will be held March 19-21 and repeat June 21-23.

Door to nowhere

take the leap

The workshop “is intended for Boomers who are looking: at post-”retirement” futures, for transformational changes in lifestyle, for second career inspiration, and/or for better insight into the coming ‘tsunamis’ of global change.” We are appealing to Boomers because they are nothing less than a demographic revolution, poised at or near retirement, and likely to live active lives for another 20-30 years or more. They are facing choices about what to do next, but at the same time rejecting (at least some) the traditional expectations about what they should do in their “twilight” years. We can’t tell them what to do, but can coach them to consider some of the Big Picture questions about values, meta-values (of Boomers), futures tools, and some of the broad parameters of global and transformational change.

We hope to play and work with these ideas, about our responsibility for the planet as a grounding value, and take in some hot springs, yoga, massage, and the magic of the mountains.
